Exam time

My autumn exams for the end of semester one of college are beginning in a matter of days. Am I stressed? No. Am I worried? No. Should I be either? Uh, yeah.

For the past four months I have eased my way through college, doing the bare minimum to pass each module. A large chunk of my course is continuous assessment which basically means if I'm to fail any modules, it's probably inevitable at this late stage. So why worry about these few exams.

I've had this whole week off as "reading week" and the amount of actual reading that was done this week is minuscule. I've done a few hours here and there, but nothing too heavy that it could potentially get in the way of me having a fabulous week.

Btw, I've had a fabulous week.

I have had more shits and giggles this week than any other week of the semester, all thanks to the fact that no-one had college. And also because it's nearly Christmas and everyone's in mighty form and we've been eating way too much chocolate and our house won "best decorated house in Kilmurry." BOOYAH.

The fun and games will come to a temporary end this evening though, as there will only be three of us left in the house. Actually, there will only be two because the other housemate spends a ridiculous amount of time in college, i.e. he will be there until around 10pm tonight.

At least I might get some work done this evening. My biggest distraction has been my housemate who lives right across from me. We have stayed up talking past 4am every night this week. Except last night actually. Last night we went to sleep around 1:30am. But that was only because she has an exam today. So yes, working cap on tonight.

Other than that I don't have much news. As I said before, this is just a ranting blog so don't be expecting any marvellous final paragraph that will have you deep in thought for the rest of the day. In fact, the post may simply end like this.

Something new.

Well, hello my good readers. Let me tell you why you are not on the familiar homepage of You Should Know.

In the past few months I have not been writing/blogging anywhere near as much as I would like to have been/should have been. This is the case for only one reason - I have run out of deep and meaningful things to say to you. Yes, for over two years I have published post after post relating to my personal life and the struggles we all (but me in particular) faced over the years. However, since starting college in September I have had very little struggles to write about. In fact, I've had no struggles to write about for quite some time.

This week, in the middle of my radio show I might add, I had an epiphany. I realised that a simple blog where I am free to write as much rubbish as I feel necessary on any given day was the next step forward for me. Hence this new blog.

On this blog I will write literally anything and everything. Whatever comes to mind will be blogged about. If I have some songs I'm listening to at the moment, I'll use this blog to share them. If I take a pretty picture of something - boom, picture post. And if I simply need an outlet to rant about how I haven't gotten enough sleep for the past three months, you will find my rants on this blog. Unlike my other blog, You Should Know, these posts will not be typed up efficiently on Microsoft Word before being edited and re-edited, and spell-checked and proofread. Oh no. This blog will be messy, raw, straight from my mind to the web.

While on You Should Know most of the posts are at least four A4 pages long and divided into neat paragraphs, these posts could be as short as two sentences or as long as the last Harry Potter book. The content will depend entirely on my mood, the events of the day and how long I have to write about them. Some days I may write about the philosophical and sociological meanings of life; other days I could be writing about what I ate for dinner.

If you enjoy ramblings and rants then I'm sure this blog will be right up your alley. If you rather the seriousness of You Should Know, fear not - I will continue to post on there also. The posts may not be as frequent as the posts on this blog will be, but how could I not keep nourishing my first child? This is my new baby but You Should Know will always be number one and of the utmost importance to me. Never doubt that.

So, here it is. A new journey that I have just realised would have made more sense to begin in the not-so-distant New Year. Oh well.

This is my ellipsis.

Enjoy.
